I am also the founder of the

Copper Beech Group, a company which manages investments in sustainable education, ecotourism and property.

Born in 1950 and the son of an Indian Diplomat, he completed an MA in law at Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge University in 1974.


Working for various companies including IBM, and in 1980, Dinesh and his wife Tani started Dabin Travel, a business selling travel and theatre tickets from a tiny kiosk at Earl's Court tube station.


This business was so successful that in 1983 he founded Flightbookers Ltd and also became the General Sales Agent for four airlines in the UK and Europe.


Flightbookers internet division was so successful that in 1999 it was separated to form Ebookers.com and the new company taken public with a flotation on the Nasdaq in New York and Germany's Neuer Markt. Dinesh went on to set up 11 offices in Europe in seven months.


Based in 12 countries, Ebookers became one of the largest travel agencies in Europe. Sales went from $23 million in 1999 to $1 billion in 2004. Dinesh also had a 1000-person business-process outsourcing (BPO) operation in India, engaged in 12 disciplines including ticketing and sales. He sold Ebookers in 2005 for $471m from an initial investment of $5m in 1999.


In 2006 he graduated from the President’s Programme in Leadership at Harvard Business School. Dinesh is also an alumnus of IMD in Lausanne. In addition, he is an active member of the                                                             and the

Currently, I direct sustainable projects in India and Romania, am a key-note speaker on entrepreneurship and play an active role in charities in the UK and around the world.

Flightbookers was the first travel agent to launch an interactive travel website in the UK. By this time, Flightbookers was the 10th largest leisure agent in the UK and employed 235 people.
